Scooteasy Terms and Conditions

Rules for using Scooteasy scooters.

Last updated: 31 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Scooteasy electric scooters, mobile app features, websites, payments, support channels, and related services. Scooteasy is a Trekk Mobility partner providing electric scooter access for Afe Babalola University in Nigeria.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, using the Scooteasy app, unlocking a scooter, submitting a payment, or using any Scooteasy service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and the Scooteasy Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and physically capable of riding an electric scooter safely. Scooteasy may refuse, suspend, or terminate access where required for safety, legal compliance, fraud prevention, payment issues, or violation of these terms.

3. Account responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your account login details secure and for all activity under your account. Do not share your account, allow another person to ride under your account, bypass app controls, misuse promo codes, or provide false or misleading information.

4. Safe riding rules

Riders must inspect the scooter before use, follow all posted campus rules and applicable laws, ride responsibly, keep both hands available for control, avoid reckless riding, and park only in permitted areas. Riders should wear a helmet where available and should not ride while impaired, distracted, carrying unsafe loads, or carrying passengers unless the vehicle is specifically designed for that use.

5. Campus and operating zones

Scooteasy scooters are intended for use within approved Scooteasy operating areas around Afe Babalola University. The app may use geofencing to manage no-ride, slow-ride, parking, or out-of-zone areas. Ending a ride outside an approved zone, blocking walkways, damaging property, or violating campus instructions may result in fees, account restrictions, or other action.

6. Unlocking, rides, and parking

A ride begins when a scooter is unlocked through the app and ends only when the app confirms the ride has ended. You remain responsible for the scooter until the ride is properly ended and parked. If the app, lock, network, or scooter has an issue, contact support through the app as soon as possible.

7. Payments, fees, and refunds

You agree to pay all charges shown in the app or otherwise communicated for rides, passes, subscriptions, penalties, damage, recovery, improper parking, or other applicable fees. Payment disputes or refund requests should be raised through Scooteasy support. Scooteasy may use third-party payment providers to process transactions.

8. Accidents, damage, and reporting

You must report accidents, injuries, damaged scooters, theft, unsafe parking, or other incidents through the app or support email as soon as possible. You may be responsible for loss, damage, claims, fines, penalties, or costs caused by your misuse, negligent use, unlawful use, or breach of these terms.

9. Prohibited use

You may not use Scooteasy scooters for racing, stunts, towing, commercial delivery without permission, illegal activity, riding outside approved areas, tampering with hardware, disabling IoT devices, damaging scooters, circumventing fees, or any use that creates an unreasonable safety risk.

10. Service availability

Scooteasy aims to keep scooters and app services available, but availability may vary due to weather, maintenance, battery levels, campus rules, events, connectivity, demand, safety, or operational needs. Scooteasy may relocate, remove, disable, or reserve scooters at any time.

11. Privacy

Scooteasy collects and uses rider, device, payment, location, and scooter data as described in the Scooteasy Privacy Policy. By using the service, you consent to the data practices needed to provide rides, support, payments, safety features, and fleet operations.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Scooteasy, Trekk Mobility, and related service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Changes to terms

Scooteasy may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Scooteasy after an update means you accept the revised terms.

14. Contact

For support or questions about these terms, contact praiseodeigah@yahoo.com or use support inside the Scooteasy mobile app.
